Have you seen the Lettercult blog? It features custom letters created by type designers, letterers, sign painters, graffiti artists, stone carvers, calligraphers, poster artists, and graphic designers. We’ve been looking at the “Best of 2011” posts and you can see our favourite submissions above.

It’s worth taking a look at this blog if you’re in need of some typographic inspiration!

4D Type

We love the work of Spanish design studio, Lo Siento, (specialists in 3D typography, packing and product design) and their beautiful made 4D typography

They created the 4D type through joining the extrusions of each shape of letter and thus allowing the observer to read it from a number of different positions.

Yuko Michishita is Japanese illustrator currently based in Sunshine Coast, Australia. These lovely detailed pencil drawings really caught our eye, each one is based on a theme and is wonderfully drawn in pencil.

Prints are available for sale in her Shop.

We love illustrated Alphabets. This architectural alphabet made in 1839 is a fine example!

Imagine living in your initial. That would be fun.
